This is an Australian made Moyes XS-3 142, manufactured in 1993.
Jeff recently (2002) acquired this classic high performance glider 
in immaculate condition, with only 25 hours on it.
It sat in storage for 8 years and practically still had "new car smell!"

Launching in Sylmar, CA off Kagel Mountain, elevation 3540 feet.
(Hang glider pilots don't "jump off mountains" which usually involves 
plummeting to one's death. Rather they "launch" which involves going up. 
The difference is significant!)

This shot was taken by another pilot from launch. It is a fuzzy 
enlargement because hang gliders can climb several hundred feet 
over launch in a matter of minutes.  Typical flights at this site 
can involve flying to 1000 to 2000 feet over launch, and sometimes as 
high as a mile over launch!
